In short
- The daily ritual stays free, forever. Writing, re-reading your past years, receiving your question and your quote: none of it requires a subscription.
- Premium adds depth over time: readings of the week, the month, the year, and an export of your journal.
- Your purchase is made with Apple or Google, not directly with us. That is where you cancel and request a refund. This is detailed in section 2.
1. Purpose and publisher
These terms govern the Lumeno Premium subscription, offered within the Lumeno app published by Matthieu Mary, acting as an individual, residing at [POSTAL ADDRESS TO BE COMPLETED]. Contact: contact@lumeno.app.
They complement the terms of use, which remain applicable.
2. Who sells you the subscription
This is the most important point in this document, and the one that surprises people most often.
The subscription is sold and billed by the app store you go through: Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). The sales contract is concluded with them, under their own terms. They collect the payment, issue the invoice, and handle refunds.
In practice:
- we never receive your card number, your banking details, or your billing address;
- cancellation and refund requests happen from your Apple or Google account, not from Lumeno;
- we cannot cancel your subscription on your behalf, nor refund you directly.
We remain available at contact@lumeno.app if something goes wrong, and we will help point you in the right direction.
3. What premium includes
- Your reading of the week, every Sunday evening, drawn from what you wrote during the week.
- Your letter of the month, at the end of each month, a wider reading of the period.
- Your book of the year, every January, your last twelve months reread chapter after chapter.
- The export of your journal as a PDF, your writing and your readings gathered into one document.
These contents are composed automatically from your own writing. As stated in section 7 of the terms of use, they have no medical or therapeutic value.
4. What stays free
The subscription never gates the daily ritual. Without paying, you keep access to the question of the day, to writing, to the feelings, to the quote, and to re-reading everything you have written, across all years. We commit to never placing your own words behind a subscription.

The prices shown in the app prevail. They may vary depending on your country, local currency and applicable taxes, and may be adjusted by the store concerned.
6. Automatic renewal
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, for the same duration and at the same price, unless cancelled before the end of the current period. Payment is charged within the 24 hours before renewal, to the payment method registered with the store.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel at any time, without reason and without charge, from your account settings:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings, your name, Subscriptions.
- Android: Google Play, profile menu, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for. You keep premium access until then. No pro rata refund is made for a period already started, unless the law provides otherwise.
Deleting your Lumeno account does not cancel your subscription, since it is managed by the store. Remember to do both.
8. Right of withdrawal
The subscription covers digital content supplied immediately. By agreeing to access it as soon as you subscribe, you expressly waive your fourteen day right of withdrawal, in accordance with article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code.
In practice, Apple and Google apply their own refund policies, often more favourable. A refund request is made directly with them, via reportaproblem.apple.com for Apple, or from Google Play for Android.
9. Changes to prices and to the offer
Prices may change. Any change affecting an ongoing subscription will be notified to you in advance by the store concerned, and will only take effect after your explicit agreement or at the next renewal, according to the platform's rules. You can always decline by cancelling.
The content of premium may evolve. We commit not to remove the essential elements described in section 3 without equivalent compensation.
10. Failure to supply
If a premium feature became unavailable for a lasting period through our fault, write to us at contact@lumeno.app. We will look for a solution, and support you in a refund request with the store where it is justified.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, please contact us first at contact@lumeno.app. Failing an agreement, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge, or refer to the European online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
These terms do not restrict the rights the law guarantees you as a consumer, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity.
